Cats of Greece

Taking a nap at Meteora

Sitting on the window sill of a shop on the island of Milos

Getting some attention outside the museum at Delphi

Wandering around the ruins at Mycenae

Sitting under a bench at the museum at Olympia

Sitting next to me on a wall at Delphi

A few more photos of some of the many cats we saw in Greece. They seem to be everywhere you go and people feed them. I even noticed in some of the gift shops that you can buy calendars and even playing cards with pictures of the cats of Greece.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

Yes they are everywhere...

they are beautiful and look well fed and cared for and healthy. it is odd for feral cats to want attention. maybe they are attention seekers because they are loved and petted so much.. my favorite is number 2 on the window sill.

How neat to get to be there and see the cats. They are part of the experience. Beautiful photos!

They look so sweet Lois, I hope they find enough food ✨

I figured that people feed them, because they seem so tame. Still, I wish people would adopt them. But if they are fed, I guess they are happier roaming the area. The first one looks like our Simba. Do many people there have pet cats? And I figure there must not be many stray dogs, since the cats seem so content.

Cute cats

Well, at least they're friendly. Good think, too, given their sheer numbers. :-)

A catty country!

That there are so many stray cats there totally surprises me somehow! I’m not sure why. In any case, I am very glad they are fed.

That's a lot of cats and you got some great photos of them. I'm reminded of all the cats that live in the Recoleta cemetery in Buenos Aires. They were everywhere too but, they weren't quite as friendly as these cats.
