Giant mural

A photo I took of The Goliath House (Goliathhaus) in Regensburg, Germany a couple of years ago. The house was built around 1260 and features a mural created by Melchior Bocksberger in the year 1573 which depicts the battle scene from the legend of David and Goliath. I like the way Goliath appears to be resting his arm on the window frame.

Linking to Monday Mural.

I was going to say the same thing! That is my favorite part, Goliath's arm leaning on the top of the window. It is a really good mural, and perfectly scaled to the size of the building.

I love murals, most of them, this one not so much, but then I read how old it is. wow... wonder how they would paint it way up there where he is leaning on the window...

Wow, that mural is fantastic. It reminds me of a certain style of artwork that I love. (I don't know the era of it, though.) Thank you for sharing this photograph with everyone.

That's quite a mural, and especially amazing for how old it is. It looks to be in good shape. And how well it's fit into the houses windows.
(P.S. I love your sandhill cranes from yesterday!)

Fabulous gigantic mural, can't believe how well it's weathered. And I too love the arm resting on the window.
Thanks for participating Lois.
