Rainy afternoon in Galway

The rain continued to fall when we returned to where we were staying in Galway, but we decided to walk around anyway since we were leaving the city the next day. Fortunately there were many shops and pubs to duck into when the rain got too heavy and it was fun to sit and have a drink and a bite to eat while we waited for the rain to let up. We passed Lynch's Castle on Shop Street, which is one of Galway's best preserved ancient buildings and has since been converted into a branch of Allied Irish Banks.

Linking to signs, signs.

When I was young, I used to enjoy walking in the rain without an umbrella. Some called me crazy but I love the feel of the rain in my face. Those were the crazy days. We are also going through rainy days here and these days, I prefer to stay home when it rains so as not to get wet. What a difference from those days. Have a great day!

Yes that rain is terrible, it makes everything so cold. But the pubs are very nice indeed, Ïrish coffee, mmmmm.

Well you do expect rain on the Green Isle. Neat shots and I like the lamp fixture.

Oh, I looove rain!
The stairs look just like in a pub (that sadly since a year does not exist anymore) in Perth!

Right, rain is also a great excuse to go into a pub :-)

Hi Lois. I have enjoyed catching up and loved your Ireland trip so far! It looks great there, even in the rain. I am so glad your broken leg healed well ... and in time for your trip. Look forward to seeing more of it.

A sunny spell would have been nice instead of the rain which is normal and seems like it will never end. I love that sign ten to one it's Guinness Time. Lovely photos Lois.

Nice shots. I love seeing Galway in other people's lenses, because I know I only had two eyes and couldn't cover all the nooks and crannies of this charming city.

Except for the heat, it feels a little like Galway here.

Yes, that's what I would have done too!

Wonderful! It is so cool to see the old buildings, both inside and out. Gorgeous woodworking inside, and even the ceilings and lighting! It is like another era!

Nice signs and pubs Lois.
This must be the Galway that Ed Sheran sings about in his "Galway girl" song :)

You can feel the atmosphere in your shots here Lois.. I'm glad you didn't let the rain put you off exploring on your last day, as long as it's not too heavy it can be fun ✨
