Critters in Killarney National Park

Our driver picked us up in his jaunting car in front of our hotel.

These two were hanging around the parking lot looking for a handout.

We had to stop at the gate entering Killarney National Park and wait for this little deer to be on its way.

Deer in a field.

Cows grazing in a field with Killarney House in the distance.

Another jaunting car coming up behind us.

He got pretty close.

A view of Ross Castle in front of us.

There is a blue heron in the stream along the side of the road in this video.

While we were staying in Killarney, Ireland, we took a ride in a traditional jaunting car through Killarney National Park. It was a little chilly and a few raindrops were falling, but our driver provided blankets for our laps and that made the ride even more enjoyable. We saw quite a few critters on our ride as you can see from my photos and the video. I will show more photos of Killarney National Park in a later post.

The horse is beautiful, and so is the countryside. I think my favorite is the fourth picture. Only one lone leafless and crooked tree amidst all the other green ones, and the big beautiful spire in the background.

That must have been nice ride in a jaunting car, back to the past.

The jaunting car and horse is a great way to travel and enjoy the surroundings.

Now I am really interested: Are Irish ravens as "boring" as German ones or chatty as Aussie ones?

A cool way to travel!

How fitting to arrive in a little horse drawn cart...slowly and hearing clop clop of hooves. Great photos of an arrival, and critters along the way!

I would love to ride in that cart any where at all, and in Ireland. Wow... love the photos of the beautiful horse
