Scarecrows in the gardens

Every year Maclay Gardens State Park hosts an event called "Scarecrows in the Gardens". Businesses, community groups, schools, families, and other groups are invited to join in by creating scarecrows for display in the gardens. Prizes are awarded too. These photos show a few of the entries from this year's event. In case you are curious about the second to the last photo, that entry was created by a local tree service.

This looks like a fun event. I'm not accustomed to seeing palms and autumn displays together.

Fun and fierce. Well, sorta fierce! I'll bet the kiddos love this place! Halloween does bring out the creativity of people...well it brings out other things, too, but I'm not gonna go there! :)

What a clever idea and what fun entries. I think that third one is my favorite. It has so much personality.

Too darn cute! I have secretly always wanted to make a scarecrow.

I vote for that last one.

Oh, these are so fun! We were supposed to see scarecrows yesterday! Every year we go. The mouse in the house waylaid our plans and it was the last weekend. I was disappointed but glad to see your photos of these.

Great series of scarecrows Lois. I like the owl, at least I am assuming it is an owl.
