Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)

For several years, there has been a colony of white squirrels living in my neighborhood and they are always fun to watch. They are hard to photograph though because they move so quickly. Yesterday I saw one scamper down a utility pole and make a meal out of a mushroom growing nearby and it stayed still long enough for me to get some good shots. Its eyes are not red and it has a bit of gray on its head and down its back, so it is not an albino, but a variation of the common gray squirrel.

Thank you for these fun photos. I've not seen such a thing and didn't know a white squirrel existed. They are cute, for sure!

Wow! I am impressed with the white squirrel and lovely photography ~ thanks,
Happy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
Quite a rarity! Cute but so devious!
I have seen photos on other blogs of white albinos, but not like this one. he looks like the inverted skunk to me... instead of black with white stripe, white with black stripe. he is really handsome.
Wow -- a white squirrel! I've never seen such a thing! Great pics. He looks like he really enjoyed that mushroom!
I've never seen one like this before. I love it and these are great shots.
Wonderful shots, Lois! There is a colony of them here in Toronto too and I have seen them many times but have never managed such great shots! Hurray for you!

All the best Jan
They just don't look right in white! LOL
We have red squirrels here, but I'm never quick enough to catch one! These shots are perfect.
So cute, Lois !
I like especially the first shot !
Oh I would love to see one of these! Wow. They are lovely.
There are White Squirrels in my area, Goose Creek, SC. If their eyes are not pink they are not albinos. They are really just white squirrels. There are a family living in Crowfield Subdivision currently and are fun to watch. June 18, 2019. Faye Pool, Realtor.
