Bees and a butterfly

Don't tell that yellow butterfly or those bees that it is not spring yet. I don't think they know.

Bella Bella

A mural on the side wall of Bella Bella, a favorite Italian restaurant in Midtown. I wish I could have figured out how to get a picture without that electric box in front of it, but it was not to be.

Granddog

I apologize for not posting too much lately, but life has gotten in my way and I haven't been able to get out and take new pictures for my blog in awhile. I'm hoping to remedy that situation this weekend. In the meantime, enjoy this picture of one of my granddogs, Annie. She loves to put her head in my lap whenever I visit, but what she really wants is to be petted. Who could resist those eyes?

A fence and water tower

If this fence seems a little intimidating, it's probably because it surrounds the Federal Correctional Institution, a low-security United States federal prison for female inmates located on the east side of Tallahassee. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice.

Softball season

Spring softball season is starting soon and my granddaughter is ready. My son-in-law took this picture of our little blonde slugger during a practice over the weekend.

On the trail

I'm not sure about this thing, but I saw it while on a walking trail in the park near my house. The park sits on land that used to be a farm and this was located near an old hay barn. I'm thinking it attached to some type of farm machinery and was used to move the hay around.

Daffodils

I planted some bulbs in a pot and the daffodils decided to bloom first. There are also hyacinths and tulips in there.

Fence and shadows

I thought the late afternoon sun created some nice shadows of this fence and some of the trees behind it.

Cattails

This is what cattails look like in the winter. I saw these growing in the marshy area near the walking trail at the Okeeheepkee Prairie Park.

Train tracks

I took this picture not far from my house. I don't know why, but I really enjoy hearing the trains blowing their horns whenever they approach this crossing, especially at night. My grandkids always try to be the first to yell "train!" whenever they hear it.

February Theme Day: Loving Life

This is my definition of loving life, my three grandkids. They are my heart.

Sorry if I'm late getting around to commenting on all of my favorite blogs today. I was in a car accident yesterday. I'm thankful there were no injuries, but my brand new car suffered extensive damage and had to be towed. I do have a rental, but I'm still a little shaky about the whole thing.

The first day of the month is always Theme Day in the City Daily Photo community. This month's theme is "Loving Life". To see other members' interpretations of the theme, visit the CDP Theme Day gallery here.
