Turtle Barge
These turtles were barely visible in the photo I showed yesterday, so I zoomed in on them. They were out in the middle of Lake Ella enjoying the afternoon sun.
What do you call a bunch of turtles? a herd? I just stopped in the middle of my comment and looked it up - a group of turtles is called a 'bale of turtles' or a 'turn of turtles.' Great photo! Have a wonderful week-end!
I recently learned that turtles, even box turtles, need sunshine to soak in and water to soak in to keep them healthy. these guys have it all, island for sun and lots of water. gail found 3 empty box turtle shells, they had died because of the drought. that is how I found out the info

I love seeing the turtles pile up on logs to get some sun. This spot seems to be pretty popular.
