These are great shots and you've brought back more memories from my trip to Italy. I have a photo of the coliseum that was photo-bombed by a pigeon who flew right into the photo as I snapped it.

Let them tease; you did great. In fact, you had me smiling throughout! I wonder if those gulls followed you from Florida? So funny to see them parked on top of monuments and sculptures! Another great series of photos that I enjoyed very much!
I agree with Tom, You did great! I love seeing those gulls on the statues and pillars. Just typical gulls hanging out wherever. The one on Neptune's head seems to be surveying the area. The cat beside the tree looks like he's meditating. The last photo made me think that the cat guided you around and was satisfied with your photo taking and now was on his way :) A great series of photos!

Yes those birds have no respect for antiques, they use them as a nice place to look around from above. You noticed them very well.
Hi Lois! Thanks for the comments! You wrote about your cousin and his church in a tent. Sounds a lot like some of my crazy relatives! They convince themselves they are called to preach and off they go. I remember a story about a new priest in the local Episcopal church. In his first sermon, he spoke earnestly of how he was a simple farm boy, and how one day while out plowing the fields he saw the letters GPC spelled out in the clouds in the sky. He said he fell to his knees because it became clear to him that God wanted him to Go Preach Christ.
An elderly priest came up to him after the service and asked to speak to him privately. The older cleric noted the young man's enthusiasm and his piety but suggested that he had misread the "sign." He said that after listening to him this morning, he was convinced the letters meant Go Plant Corn!
