I spent some time this past weekend wandering around a few park trails in the woods, which is where I found these old fences. That is part of an old palm tree trunk on the ground in the second picture and I found it just past the fence in the first shot. The old fence in the last photo seems to have been taken over by some thick vines and Spanish moss. Those are azaleas blooming on the bush next to it.

Well spotted Lois. I didn't think azaleas grew in the wild like this, they always seem pretty delicate.
The fence doesn't look so studdy, nice to see the flowers blooming already.

What an interesting woods! I'm glad you identified the object in the second photo. I wouldn't find those in my woods.
There are some golf courses in our area built in wooded areas where I've found fences. In some cases they were cattle fences.

The fences that pop up in the woods always interest Buddy and me. Some are new and some old and in poor condition, but the wood is always so pretty. Looks like you had a nice walk.
I just adore fencing like this, where nature shines through with just a hint of fence! Pretty area.

You do see these in the woods here to denote property lines, though inevitably there end up gaps along the lines, so wildlife has no problem moving through.

The fences seem to have seen better days in places but how pretty to have wild azaleas blooming next to them.
