There are a lot of turtles in Waverly Pond. I took the first picture while I was standing on a bridge over the water. I was sitting on a bench near the edge of the pond and zoomed in on that turtle "barge" to get the second shot.

I love this photo!!! So many. Neat.
They are interesting creatures. When we lived in Ft. Lauderdale, our condo backed up to a small canal which was full of turtles for awhile, but people began catching them to eat (make soup) so finally the condo board put up a big sign forbidding catching turtles which helped a little bit. Crazy!

There's a pond here with turtles- one will often see them sunning themselves on a rock at the edge.
