State Bird

These Mockingbirds were playing hide and seek with me and my camera while I was sitting some distance away. They were darting in and out of the bushes, but I still managed to zoom in and get a couple of good shots of them. The Mockingbird is Florida's state bird.

These things are fun to watch. I did not know the mockingbird was our state bird. From the actions of those running the place I would have guess the loon!

The first one looks quite inquisitive. We have provincial birds.

I love these birds .. Pretty soon, if it is like every other March since we've lived here, one or two will start serenading us awake in the morning! My idea of the perfect alarm clock.

Such a pretty bird. I don't think I've ever seen one. Only heard of them ... in Maycomb, Alabama.
