Screaming contortionist

When I was in Orlando a few weeks ago, I took these three pictures of this sandhill crane one right after the other while sitting in my car. In the first shot, the crane is screaming at the top of its lungs at another sandhill crane a few feet down the sidewalk. In the second and third photo, I can only assume there was a sudden urge to preen or else an insect was biting in a delicate area. My grandkids were in the back seat laughing.

These photos are terrific! Funny birds. I've not ever heard one scream before, though. That could be a bit scary! :)

These are great -- it is a triumph to get these big old birds in action and you really scored with these.
