Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)

This illusive little squirrel lives in my neighborhood and I'm not sure if there is more than one, but every time I see it, I don't have my good camera with me. This picture was taken with my iPhone on a particularly gray day, so I apologize for the quality, but the gloomy surroundings do make its white fur more noticeable at least. I want to point out that this is NOT an albino, but a rare color variation of the common gray squirrels which are found everywhere in my neighborhood and regularly raid my bird feeders. If you look closely, you can see a gray stripe running down its back and some gray on its face. I wouldn't mind having this one in my yard though. Maybe I could get a better picture!

Never seen a white one before! Peculiar.
Seeing is believing, even if the photo isn't the best. ;-)
Amazing little creature Lois. The colour certainly makes the white squirrels easier to spot!
OH MY! I've heard of white squirrels but I have never seen one except in photos.
Someone posted a black squirrel the other day and I've not seen one of them in Florida. Nor have I ever seen a white squirrel anywhere. Is this one an aberration or are there really white squirrels in the trees hiding from my eyes? :) I think your shot came out very well.
Come on little one, you have a standing invitation!
Wow, cool! I have never seen a white squirrel. We only have the gray squirrels here. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy new week!
What a ghostly fellow. :)
Amazing, I've never seen one like that!
I love it!
So this week I saw a photo of a black squirrel and now a white one. I have never seen either in person.

Oh, yeah! This'll be great when the snows come . . . to Tallahassee. Hmm, may be a while.
