Our World Tuesday
We had some glorious weather that past weekend, so on Sunday I decided to pick up some lunch and head to Cascades Park. This little Red-winged Blackbird was under one of the picnic tables snacking on a french fry, but when I sat down, he flew up into one of the nearby palm trees and watched me eat my lunch. When he flew, the red color on his wings was much more noticeable. He also did a bit of singing while he was sitting in the tree. Once I was done, I walked away and he flew down under the table again to finish his own lunch. I might have left a few pieces of bread behind for him, as well as some lettuce from my sandwich.

A very patient bird and kind of him to sing for you while you ate. :-)
Excellent photo you made, the bird , the plants and the sunshine beautiful.
The bird surely deserved his food!
oh i didn't even notice the bird till you said something! love the green against the blue!
Gosh your sweet bird was having a good food day Lois.. They're so tricky though, don't stay in one place for too long :)
cute little scrounger!
Nice palm shot here.
I have never seen this kind of blackbird, it's very pretty and the photo is beautiful!
That was very thoughtful of you. I'm sure he enjoyed it all.
Oh, I didn't know red-winged blackbirds would eat French fries! I thought only gulls did that! ;)
We see them up here as well- this time of year they'll start getting quite territorial even with passing humans.
Nice peek at the sky.
I love to hear them sing!
What a lovely sight!
Sweet little thing, we don't have ones with go-faster stripes!
The pretty little bird sang for his supper, nice of you to add variety to his meal.
Red-winged Blackbirds are a noisy bunch, but they sure are pretty. Tom The Backroads Traveller
They do have some pretty colors, a nice companion for your picnic! Enjoy your day and the week ahead!!
The palm and palmettos are familiar sights to me, but I haven't noticed the bird around here.
