While walking along one of the trails at Dorothy Oven Park last weekend, I spotted this fence through the bushes.
I got a little closer to the fence, but this was all I could see.
I continued my walk and about a half hour later, I came up on it from a different angle. That fence was surrounding this cute little wooden water tower! At one time, it must have serviced the manor house located in the park. I showed a picture of the house on my blog a few years ago here.
Here is a closeup of the top of the water tower. It's funny, I've been visiting this park for years and we even held my daughter's wedding reception in the manor house 14 years ago, but I never noticed the water tower until now.
Linking to Good Fences.

Such a pretty fence and watertower. Yes, to explore your city can have some surprises you didn't noticed before.
Looks like it could be easily missed with all that foliage.

This looks like a pretty place and that tower makes me think of the old TV show "Petticoat Junction".
Gorgeous captures for the day, Lois!! What a beautiful park!! All that beauty and a great fence as well!! Love it!!
It looks quite surrounded, but still in good shape.
I'm sure it served a purpose and probably still does to some degree. Still in good shape.
Always something new to see -- though it appears this park is lovely enough that I'd never tire of walking there anyway.
What a great find. The watertower is cool looking. - Gosh I didn't think there were many who remembered the show Petticoat Junction.

Funny how we can miss things that have been there all along! Nice pics of it, Lois!
Your perseverance paid off. That is a darling little water tower.
Love the shot looking straight up at the tower. And the little fence around the top of it.
