Swamp
My neighborhood backs up to some railroad tracks and just on the other side of those tracks is this swampy area or what we sometimes like to refer to as "wetlands". There are some small sinkholes nearby too, but they are on private property so I wasn't able to get a picture. As you can see, the trees haven't gotten their leaves back yet. This area is why the mosquito control truck drives through my neighborhood on a regular basis during warmer weather.

Very pretty photo, so special for Florida.
It's hard to see where the trees stop and the reflections start - very cool
you and jack are thinking alike today!
Great shot, but not my favorite areas as for some reason I find swamps to be depressing!! Hope your day is going well, Lois!!
A lovely abstract feel.
well, i thought it was beautiful - until you mentioned the skeeters. :)
Just keep an eye out for gators!
I bet it can get deep with those skeeters, we have the patrol coming out and about here too, very soon. Lovely view though.
It looks great in a picture, but I am not sure I would like it with mosquitos and all!
It's good to see these areas surviving!
What a beautiful mysterious photo !
It's pretty but like William, I assume there are alligators in there... Not for me (nor mosquitoes actually!)
Oh, such a lovely photo :)
Beautiful photo .. I'll bet the frogs sing loudly at night.
A swamp for you and a swamp for me! But I had to go 90 minutes for mine. There are wetlands behind the community I live in, too, so why did I go so far and pay real money if I wanted a walk in the swamp?
Looks like you probably really need those mosquito-control-trucks!
It may be a mosquito swamp but it sure makes a lovely image Lois.
This little swamp does have its own charm but I can see how the mosquitoes would love it. Your words brought back memories of my youth when we ran through the spray from the truck that went down each street. It's amazing that we all survived!!
