Good Fences
This old wall has been standing for as long as I can remember and has definitely seen better days. It surrounds a huge piece of property with an old house behind it, but I think it will soon be coming down because the land is being developed into a 175 acre public park with nature trails, restroom facilities, a baseball field and other amenities. I can't wait, because it is very close to where I live and my grandkids are going to love it. Work has already begun and it is fun to watch how it is progressing.

That's progress Lois, sometimes good sometimes not so much :) this one looks like it may be a popular decision.
Looks like a strong barrier to me.
The idea of what they are planning to do sounds very good to me :)
Maybe they leave some of that wall?
Have a beautiful day

i'm glad it will be a park instead of housing development! :)
Sounds like an awesome improvement in the community. Neat to see the wall though.
I love the colors in this photo. It will be very nice to have a new park in the area.. Have a great day!
Sounds like a positive change. So often we see the opposite when devlopers hit the scene.
Nice photo Lois!
I would love to see the old house behind it...
Turning the area in a park with nature trails sounds really good to me. Even better that it is in your area and you will be able to walk there.
It's always great to have a park near by! I do love the wall though!! Hope you have a beautiful day, Lois!! Enjoy!!
A park would be lovely to be.
Nice take Lois. The wall is nice though.
A good park would be quite welcome for you.
Certainly looks to be a strong fence! I'm sure it has done it's job over the past years.
Enjoy a beautiful day
That is a very good thing! Maybe they will brush up a little also this old wall...
The park will be a real treat! I hope the house isn't anything particularly significant though and just a ruin. Love the block wall!
Nice shot of this old wall. You can see some of the (wear and tear) from it being up so long. I do think though that the park sounds like an awesome idea.
I bet it was something special in its day though. I'm happy for your park coming soon, it will be such a pleasure for all!
Perhaps it'll look less forbidding?
I love that it will become a park, Lois!
Lois, your city that you show the pictures it looks like it was the happiest place on earth. Lots of sun, lots of sky, a lot of vegetation :)
The idea of creating a major new public park is odd in today's world, with strapped municipal budgets. Good for Tallahassee.
Hard to beat a stone wall for endurance.
It is always very good news when a public park is being developed.
