Rubbish Tuesday

Built in 1921, the old city electric power plant building is located at the southeast corner of Cascades Park near downtown Tallahassee. It is currently being renovated and will become a restaurant appropriately named The Edison. You can see a picture of what it will eventually look like at their website here.

I'm trying to imagine what kind of cuisine they'll be serving in The Edison. :-)

That is going to be a very striking building and it looks like it will make a large restaurant.

That's a grand old building and I love the planned renovation. I may have to trip up to Tallahassee just to eat there.

Restoring is better than letting it fall down.

Man, everything these days seems to be 'evolving' into eateries.

I think it's great when buildings are saved and renewed/re-used! They have a lot of personality along with their history! This is a great example, Lois!

Great building, but the sky really grabs my attention.

This reminds me of the Cumaean Sibyl answers we studied at school...

Not a bad building for an electric power plant, and the renovated version is stunning!

Glad to hear this building is getting a new life. It would be a shame to lose a piece of history!

Great pic with that open window and the paper blowing out. Love it. And reminds me of a building in downtown Ft M that I should take and post to Roan's meme sometime. Thanks for the idea ;>)

How cool! I am so glad they are restoring it! I would have named the restaurant the Tesla! :-)

Some of these old industrial buildings can be beautifully converted into new uses, like restaurants.
