Good Fences
More of a barricade than a fence, but it does keep the big vehicles out and allows pedestrians, bicyclists and strollers to enjoy the area around Cascades Park safely. Linking to Good Fences.
One of my first thoughts was I wonder if skateboarders try to weave their way through them...then in looking I wondered if there was room for that. So opened up the comments and the first one mentioned trying to weave in and out on their bicycle!
Yep, weaving was my first thought, but I think it has and does serve a far better purpose!! Great shot for the day as always, Lois! Hope you have a beautiful day and a lovely weekend!!
These are very necessary as without them some moron might come barreling through there and run over 1/2 dozen kids and moms!
We have a lot of these in front of some stores, especially jewelry and technology stores...but they're bigger so as to keep people from crashing into the store and stealing everything in sight.
In the post-September 11 world, we see barriers like this everywhere, don't we? At first, it was just government buildings. Then banks, then corporate headquarters. Now, everywhere.

I would see these as a kind of challenge to my cycling abilities and I would want to see if I could weave my way between them. :-)
That's a clean and shining bright fence :))
Have a fine day

I think I would have to walk my bike thru the poles.. Love the shadows too. Great capture, have a happy day!
It definitely keeps the bigger vehicles out so I'd say it qualifies as a fence. :))
haha revrunner the rebel!
Probably very needed there too! Excellent shot!
shiny traffic pylons qualify as a fence - certainly for driving traffic. :)
it is a good fence, a protecting fence
That's different.

Nice shot!
We see them here in some select spots as well.
This is neat, I like that you captured the shadows of the posts as well.

Those poles mean business.
Wow, brand new and shiny! It's a shame though that they are needed!
There are many foolish people around making these things necessary.

A shining fence!
