The sky could not have been more perfect on the day I toured the Texas State Capitol in Austin last week. That is the
Goddess of Liberty statue standing on top of the dome and is actually a replica placed there in 1986. The original 1888 Goddess of Liberty statue was taken down, restored and moved to the Bullock State History Museum. I'll probably be returning to local pictures this weekend. Linking to

Strong against that sky. Interesting. Did they realize their mistake?
just as clear blue as one can be!
You got a gorgeous blue sky of this grand building.
Love that second image. A clear blue sky is the perfect background for almost any interesting subject and I love architecture. Well done.
They do have beautiful blue skies in Texas -- having been born and raised there, I do remember!! Terrific captures for the day, Lois! Hope you have a lovely weekend! Enjoy!!
It is an impressive building!
A great building against the blue sky!
Love that bottom pic, Lois!
Perfection is right. And very interesting. I'd say you've done Austin justice with these photos!
How nice to come back after a long time to Tallahassee :) !!
The Connecticut State Capitol has done the same thing. The original dome-top statue from the late 1800s was taken down after a storm. The difference is that in the 1940s it was donated to the war effort and melter to make ammunition! There is a painted plaster version on display inside the Capitol.
Beautiful blue sky to go with that impressive building.
Everything looks better against a blue sky! :)
It really is an impressive Capitol Building ... Inside and Out!
I'm amazed at how blue the sky is there. It's gorgeous!
Beautiful blue sky! That capitol building in Austin is a stunner, for sure.
Beautiful post!
Best regards!
