SkyWatch Friday

I sat in my car watching this brave little mockingbird torment the hawk sitting on that light post for quite awhile. In this shot, it appears the mockingbird is flying away, but it didn't give up. It kept coming back and dive bombing until finally the hawk got tired of it and flew off to a tree. Linking with SkyWatch Friday.

Ha! At first I thought the hawk was a statue. Funny shot - definitely made me smile. :)

Hawks and mockingbirds! I am so tired of pigeons and gulls...

I bet there was a nest somewhere nearby that the mockingbird was protecting.

Great shot! I've seen raptors tormented by smaller birds before, usually crows. I guess it's sitting (nonchalantly, I might add) too close to a nest.

I guess that mockingbird thought maybe it was as big and powerful as the hawk. Persistence often wins and the mockingbird proved it!

Word to the wise--- don't tempt Mother Nature. It could be DINNER time soon.
