October Theme Day: Movement

I photographed this industrial sized ceiling fan in the showroom of a local car dealership while waiting to get my car serviced. It was moving very slowly and I'm not sure it was making a difference in how cool it was inside, but watching it reminded me I needed a Theme Day picture and time was running out. To see other interpretations on this month's theme, visit the City Daily Photo community Theme Day page.

You will need some movement there when the temperatures are high.

Maybe a bit out of season, but simple and effective for this theme day!

Unfortunately, ceiling fans are never out of season in Florida VP!

I think you made excellent use of your time while waiting for you car to be fixed. ;))

I also had a tough time finding something I liked for "movement". Glad you could at least multitask while waiting for your car!

A creative choice!

I agree with EG, you did indeed make great use of your time while waiting for your car! I'm happy to say that we're already more in need of a heater than a fan!! Fall does come to the northwest in hurry!!

I've seen these big fans moving slowly too and wondered if they were doing any good.

Now that's something I've never seen, Lois. Thanks for reminding me to link to the theme day! I like your choice of subject for the theme!

We use a fan all year and just reverse it in the cold weather to push the hot air down from the ceiling. Good choice for the theme, Lois!

Remember those slow-moving fans in the old movies? This one is as you say pretty industrial, but it makes me think of that! :-) Great movement shot!
