Another one of Scarlett's dresses from Gone With The Wind

Yesterday I promised to show another picture I took of a dress worn by Vivien Leigh in the movie Gone With The Wind from the exhibition currently on display at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas in Austin. This dress was worn in one of the final scenes of the movie when Scarlett attended Ashley's birthday party. You can't tell from looking at the picture, but Vivien Leigh must have been very tiny to fit into this dress because it is really quite small. This dress is definitely not rubbish, but it is old and pristine and quite vintage so I am linking it to Rubbish Tuesday.

It's gorgeous! I would love to wear clothes like this, although I am glad women don't "have" to dress in such a restricting manner anymore.

Styles have really changed since then. However, I still think this gown is gorgeous. I would never have any use for it, but that was the thing back then.

On Dec 15th this year marks the 75th anniversary of the premiere showing of the movie in Atlanta...that may be the reason for the exhibit! What a great thing to get to see! I missed your post yesterday and will have to go back and look. This gown is SOOOO beautiful! sigh

That is quite a dress. Exhibitions of dresses from movies seem to be popular this year. Hartford had an exhibition of dresses worn by Katharine Hepburn.

Oh the glamour of the good old days! Speaking of small, I saw where George Clooney's wife is a size 0!

I'm posting at L & L (http://www.landlfotos.com/blog.html)

Hope you're doing well
