This porch is located on the east side of the Knott House just off the dining room. It was used for reading, listening to the radio and apparently taking an occasional nap since it also is furnished with a nice little bed. There is also a lovely view of the Wood House next door from this porch and you can see that view in one of my previous posts
here.

Such a lovely old house and I've really enjoyed your photos, Lois, as always!! Interesting area on the porch -- only in Florida!!! Here in the northwest you'd have to keep everything covered to prevent rain damage -- on a daily basis!! Hope you have a great new week!

Isn't that amazing, they used day beds even way back then.
That is a day bed on the porch! My grandmother had one just like that and that's what she called it. It was for her nap! (Unfortunately, when we spent the day or a couple of days with them, we also had to take a nap, quite an indignity for pre-teens!)
