Ice cold soda in the bottle
Now this is the way we drank our soda back when I was a kid. We bought these drinks at Havana's General Store and they sure were good! I even taught my grandson how to blow air across the top of the bottle and make it sound like a foghorn.
Such a cool grandma you are! I remember all these things. My grandfather ran a feed store in a little town in Kansas and when we'd visit I'd run up to his store where he had these bottles in a big bin filled with ice. He always gave me an ice-cold RC! That was sooooo good on a hot Kansas day!
Yes Darla, we did keep the bottles! I asked if we were supposed to return them or pay a deposit and they looked at me like I was crazy. They told me I could just throw them away because Gadsden County does not recycle glass! I'm keeping them in my kitchen :)

always so much better in a bottle!
Pop in a bottle is always better than pop in a can.
Gosh, this brings me back in time. I had even forgotten how to make these bottles whistle.
Yup, I to remember making those sounds and returning soda bottles for 2 cents and buying penny candy :)
Did you keep the bottles? What fun!

Oh, I haven't seen any of those in years!! How fun! And I do remember making the foghorn, too!! Great shot for the day, Lois!! I love it!!

It's so cool! For the taste is much better when the soda is inside a bottle of glass!

Oh how fun. I haven't had one in years. I love grape soda.
They look refreshing, though they're not brands we'll see where I am, north of the border.
The pop always seemed to be sooo cold in the bottles!
