I took this picture in Roselawn Cemetery, one of several city owned cemeteries in Tallahassee. I've always liked this cemetery because of the shady landscaping. I'm not sure why the deer were placed in this particular spot, but they must have some special significance to one of the nearby graves. This is my first contribution to
Taphophile Tragics.

Nice you are at Taphophile too. The deer are something I have never seen at a cemeterie, very unusual but why not.
I like dappled shade like this. Your city's cemetery looks great in the shade. The answer to why the deer are there is probably "Because."
I wouldnt want to walk up on them at night, if I didnt know they were there.
Welcome on the occasion of your first post at Taphophile Tragics, Lois. I do hope that the cyclone/hurricane/wind depression is not heading your way!
I do not know the significance of the deer statues either, but I do know that they make the cemetery even more lovely than without them. Something about the dappling and the light and the shade.
Hope to see you back again, Lois, whenever you collect your next cemetery related photographs.
How unusual. Beautiful
The topic is equally as interesting as this meme, what does it mean?
What a lovely capture, Lois! I love the deer and their being in the cemetery is interesting! Wonder what the story behind them is??? Have a beautiful day!
The deer make the cemetery even more peaceful. What a nice idea.
Great photo! It appears the deer are waiting for someone or something...they're quite attractive!
Hope you're all safe!
Very well captured, a beautiful and serene place!

Great photo. Looks peaceful and serene.
Sorry I haven't been around commenting in so long! I'm so happy for you to be able to spend so much time with your grandkids!
i have seen live deer in our cemeteries, but never these ones! These are less destructive.
Interesting choice of sculpture.
Interesting. Hope they don't become shooting targets!
are there also real deer around?
For a brief second I thought the deer in the foreground was real. Then my brain switched on. Lovely setting.
