More Old City Cemetery

I took all of these pictures near the east entrance of Old City Cemetery after I saw the "no trespassing" warning sign posted by the Tallahassee Police Department. It's probably due to vandalism, which is a shame. I think it is interesting the way some of the family plots are fenced and even have gates as you can see in the second shot. In the third picture, it looks like someone tried to slide the stone covering right off of one of the graves. This place would be really spooky at night! You can click on any of these pictures and enlarge them to get a better view.

That slide stone looks spooky indeed, like someone tried to get out?

Quaint and peaceful to say the least. I enjoy reading old tombstones.. the history tells its own tales.

be happy Lois,

It's really pretty. I like the old-fashioned tombstones. Too bad some bad seeds have kept others from enjoying this place.

Brattcat has a photo of a gravestone monument today also. Cemeteries are good places for photo shoots.

those old headstones are so detailed and beautiful aren't they?! and what kind of person would vandalize a cemetery? i know it's done but still, i can't even imagine the type of lowlifes that do that.

Old cemeteries can be pretty interesting (AND pretty spooky), Lois.

Great shots. Can't understand the thrill of vandalizing graves. Love the moss hanging from the trees.

I'll just bet that Cemetery is on the spooky side at night. Just why someone would want to vandalize old places of rest like this, is just plain sick. There are a number of old Cemetery's around here that date back into the late 1700's. I just wonder, if you'd walk around there at night, what you'd see or hear since I truly believe in Ghost's & Spirits.

One would think the vandals could find other places to do their dirty deeds! Sheesh!

One of my dad's old jokes: Do you know why so many cemeteries have fences around them?

No? Too many people are just dying to get in!

Sorry. I won't do that again. Maybe.
