Weekend Reflections

Antique glass bottles on display at Florida's historic old Capitol building. These bottles were found by archeologists in the 1970's when the foundation for the new capitol was excavated. You can see the reflection of one of the front windows and its red and white striped awning in the glass along with a passing car on Monroe Street outside. To see more beautiful reflections from around the world, visit Weekend Reflections.

Very pretty antique glass. It's so great that it was found intact.

I find bottles all over my property. I need to go see the Old Capitol one of these days. I never do.

I wonder how many are locally made bottles and how many -- like the Coca Cola bottle -- were regular commercial bottles.

We lived in Pennsylvania in the early 70s and our son, then a teen, dug in creek banks and old dumping areas and found a great many of these bottles, medicine jars and jugs, some from the 19th century. Pretty cool!
