Election 2000
Another display in the Florida Historic Capitol Museum is about Florida's role in the notorious 2000 United States Presidential election. The second picture shows a ballot box from Palm Beach County, home of the infamous "butterfly ballot".
That election sickened me on politics. I knew most politicians and parties were infected with corruption but the minute levels of insanity was revealing to me. My opinion of politics and politicians sank below used car salesman status and have gone below that with the likes of Mitchell from Kentucky and the new tarts licking their "pick me" posters.
Oh,yes, I remember it well, too. We are political junkies here so watched it all closely. The funny part is that we used the same type of ballot for years and years with no problems with hanging chads.
