Funky Tree

I noticed another one of those not so wonderfully disguised cell phone towers when I was driving around town the other day. It's the funny looking tree there in the middle and you can double click on the picture to get a better look. Sort of sticks out like a sore thumb doesn't it?

They always do stick out, don't they? I saw some in California disguised as palm trees. Very straight, rigid palm trees ;^)

A kind of cut Christmas tree?

I work with leasing space on towers for a paging company. I hate these "stealth" towers. In Arizona they are made to look like giant cactus.

I thought it was a tree until I enlarged your photo.. but its still prettier than a cell tower.

Have a great day, Lois

They're sort of hysterical in a way.

Ah yes... the cell phone tree. I think it's a popular variety in many cities. :)

Haha. The trick is for the 'tree' cell tower to be built next to trees. There's one in Tampa, which is a pretty good likeness to a tree.

I have seen many of these. I go back and forth about whether I think it is a good idea or not. At present I am thinking that it is better than leaving it buck naked.

They could at least make it look like the local variety, don't you think?

I don't like anything that's fake but in this case I think I prefer this instead of those ugly towers destroying the landscape...

There was one of these on the way to where my brother used to live, just a weird.

That's funny! I guess it's good that they tried.

Looks a little like those pine trees from Australia that are so popular in south Florida. Funny!

It would look perfectly normal if they hung some Spanish moss on it. :)
