Florida Liberty Bell

The Florida Liberty Bell is located on the east side of the Capitol complex in front of the House Office Building in downtown Tallahassee. This is a Liberty Bell replica and there are 54 more replicas in state capitols and a few other places. You can find out more about these replicas here.

I didn't know about all the replica bells. I like how you framed this photo.

I didn't even know the bell was there! I learned something new today, thanks Lois!

Interesting that they were made in France. The information said that the bells can be rung. I do not see a crack on the bell in your photo. I guess that it would be impossible to make a new casting that replicates the crack.

Interesting! I didn't know we had one here in Florida.

So, where's the crack. I wish someone would ring it loudly in the ears of the ding-a-lings making our laws - might wake 'em up!

The Tallahassee Liberty Bell was rung in 1969. It played incredibly.

Thanks for your comment Randy! I wish I could have heard it being rung, but I didn't move to Tallahassee until 1971.
