The Sweet Shop is located right across the street from the south gate of Florida State University. It has been at this location since at least the 1940's because my father told me he ate breakfast here every morning when he attended FSU starting in 1948. It was also a popular place to go when I was a student years later. That huge building wrapping around behind it is a private dormitory.

Looks like a terrific, classic spot. I can't imagine living in a dorm so close to the Sweet Shop. The 'ol Freshman Fifteen might become the Freshman Fifty.
I love facilities around the university because they have so much history. This place looks great with the outdoor patio :D
That makes me smile. Old Tallahassee for sure.
With that location, it should stay in business forever!
If it's been there since the 1940s it must be doing something right! Looks like a place I would enjoy, too.
Hi Lois...re your comment on Cedar Key - no, we didn't dare test that swing. The branch upon which it hangs just doesn't give off trustworthy vibes! :-)
Hope you're having a great day!
Very sweet and nice! Something must be special here.
It must have a captive audience in that location.
That is a sweet cute sweet shop :D
That looks like a great student type of place, ageless.
It has the look of a nice place to eat.
I would love a sweet shop here in town! That's lovely.
Every good town needs a sweet shop!
My grandparents used to own the Sweet Shop. My grandmother used to make desserts that she would take there. They lived just a few doors down, where the Methodist student center is now. It was such a fun place to go. Looks like it still is!
