Shady Oak

Nothing like a little shade when the afternoon temperature reaches 105 degrees, which is what it did last week. That was an all time high temperature for Tallahassee going back to when they first started keeping records. Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!

105 is all? It was 108 in Phoenix on my car thermometer as I was driving home from the office, and 110 a few days ago. But unlike Florida, in Arizona it is a dry heat.

Beautiful play of light, shadows and shapes with this beautiful tree.

Adrienne, yes it is a live oak. Probably over 100 years old.

Dave, I've been to Arizona and it is hot, but you are right, the humidity here makes is much worse.

And would that be a patriarch oak?

Oh, that is hot!!! This weekend was 70s in Hartford on Saturday and Sunday, absolutely perfect, after a rainy start on Friday.

I'm afraid global warming/climate change is going to burn the behinds of the naysayers and unfortunately, the rest of us. We're having very hot weather, too...although it hasn't reached 100 yet. Oak trees do help!
