A hazy sky reflected in the windows of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles headquarters in Tallahassee. I had to get my driver's license renewed last week and that was an ordeal because I had to show them my passport, social security card, marriage certificate, and two pieces of recent mail showing my physical address just to prove my identity and residency. Then they made me take a vision test. Whew! To see more interesting reflections from around the world, don't miss Weekend Reflections.

Don't get me started about that process! I went through it last fall. It's incredible all the exceptions that are made. Grrr.
Holy cow! I'd better check to see if they require all that here now. My license doesn't expire until 2012, but it will take me that long to find half of that stuff. At least you got a good photo op out of it! Kat
They put you through the wringer. I'm glad you are who you say you are.
that's a place i just dread going to...and i still have to get my virginia license...major pita to do it here since i guess va is the state that licensed the terrorists on 9/11 so now they've really cracked down and made it difficult for everyone...blah!
Nice shot to get over a lousy task.

Beautiful sky reflected in the windows!
I also love that sign and the palm tree!

i wonder if all of the documentation required for a driver's license renewal is due to Florida immigration-related laws or regulations.
I'm glad I'm on this side of the reflecting glass.
Welcome to the land of Big Brother, Fatherland Security, Ignorance and Stupidity! Where, to borrow Kristofferson's phrase, "Freedom is just another word for nothin' left to lose."
Actually, Marion County has made some changes to their operation so while you still have to jump through identity hoops, it isn't as painful. I renewed my license also and it was a breeze! In and out in about 10 minutes!
Don't you just love the State of Florida! My hubby just went through all of that too.
I'm not positive but I think this is a federal requirement, so Florida might be innocent. My recollection is that Congress told states to tighten up drivers license requirements as an anti-terrorism measure.
Well at least you got a good photo out of the deal! Nobody likes going there...

Eeks, I think mine comes up this year too! I'd better check to see what they require here ...
Maybe it's not such a bad thing to have all this identification ... since I'm at the age where I have to look at ONE of them every time someone asks my name! Lol
wow, a glass that does not reflect a thing... You did caught well this one ! ;)
