Palmetto and Oak

I noticed this little palmetto nestled in the crook of this old oak tree and thought it made a good blog picture. It seems to be growing in a bed of moss and dirt that settled in between the branches.

That is so sweet ! Just like if this big oak was protecting that baby palm tree... It reminds me a lot on that cartoon where a big dog protect a kitten that is always scratching his back before sleeping on him...

How lovely to find that 'just happened' - looks like something a florist might do to make an attractive arrangement.

What we have learned from living in Florida for 26 years is that almost any plant will grow almost anywhere and if not tended to will obliterate anything in its path.

This little palm is, I think, a good example!
