Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)

I saw another wood stork last weekend wading and fishing in this pond and happened to catch an egret taking off nearby. To see more fascinating critters from around the world, don't miss Camera Critters.
A lovely picture with a nice couple.
Beautiful shot, Lois!
Happy Sunday, Karl
I always forget this birds name...It was such a treat to see you and the little one yesterday..sorry, I was up to my elbows in soil. But, you probably expected that didn't you?
What a wonderful photograph! I love wood storks and you got that egret taking off along with its reflection! Superb!
What beautiful birds - quite exotic to me. We get big herons but not wood storks, as far as I know.
What a lovely stork! Possibly taking a break in the water after delivering the baby...? :-D
PS: Thank you again for keeping us in your thoughts! xx
I haven't seen a stork in years - these are so beautiful - and, like Jennyfreckles said - quite exotic to me too!
Wood storks are among my favorite Florida birds. We have a place in SWF, and wood storks are plentiful there. I think part of their appeal is in their ugliness.
Wonderful photo Lois, love the wood stork.
Neat bird shot... they'd be frozen in ice here.
I'm always enchanted by this lovely critter, I like egrets a lot! You took a fabulous picture!
Neat shot, I like the reflection in the water of the egret taking off.
I love it when you can catch one of these birds taking off. Nice shot!
Beautiful spot and beautiful capture. Look at that stork reflection.
