Climbing Tree

Some trees were just made for climbing and this one seems to be kneeling down to make it easier for the kids! My good friend Beth pointed out that there is a heart in the branches of the tree, so I'm entering this picture in Clytie's Guest Heart Thursday over at Random Hearts. Thanks Beth!

Great tree. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires fall protection measures, such as harnesses and lanyards, whenever a worker is at a height of 6 feet or more. Kids climbing this tree could easily reach that height, but OSHA does not regulate children climbing in trees.

Dave, there was actually a parent keeping a close eye on these kids. He just didn't make it into my picture!

I think live oaks are the grandest trees of all. I miss seeing them. Ah well, later this month perhaps.

I climbed that tree so many times as a kid. The bark is worn smooth in a lot of places.

Love it because I love to climb trees. I am glad kids still do to and that they are allowed to. What a fun tree. MB

What a beautiful tree with the moss hanging. I wouldn't mind climbing it myself, haha!

What fun for kids! Enlarging your photo showed more texture than I was aware of .... I also might have missed the tree's "crutch"!

Oh, my WORD! That is one of the most wonderful looking trees I think I've ever seen. And there is a heart in the branches, you know...this picture just fills my eyes.

Happy Guest Heart Thursday!

Thank goodness kids are still allowed to climb trees -- and without helmets or knee pads. Oh my.

This has to be an all time favorite tree in our town, don't you agree?

I see the heart Beth found! I'm so happy to see you here on Guest Heart Thursday, Lois!

When I was a kid, my mom said my name should have been "Clytie Uppatree", cause that's where I always ended up!

I loved climbing trees as a kid! This is wonderful!!!

Thanks for your expression of concern, Lois. Denise is improving daily and we're so grateful as we almost lost her over the weekend. We won't be home for awhile so I'll be posting and commenting sporadically.

Our best to you, too!
