Red Light Camera

One of the newly installed red light cameras near a busy intersection in Tallahassee. If you run the light, you will be photographed and a citation will be mailed to the owner of the car. This particular intersection was targeted because it has had a high percentage of traffic crashes in recent years.

You can't go far without being watched these days - but in this case it sounds like a good idea if it reminds people to act sensibly and reduces accidents.

They have a lot of these in the Phoenix metro area, and people seem to agree that they are a good idea to cut down on red light running. They installed similar cameras that measured speed on the highways and people rebelled and they turned them off.

We don't have any red light cameras in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, as we do not even have (nor do we need) any traffic lights.

We also have "camera cop" enforcing school zones.

Amazing that you have those cameras over there as well. I guess they are doing a job.
