Summer thunderstorms have started rolling in just about every afternoon. I hate the thunder and lightning that accompany these storms, but they sure do cool us off! This one was moving in as I was getting out of my car to go into the grocery store. To see more SkyWatch pictures from around the world, go visit

I'm ready for regular storms in SRQ. We're getting the build up of afternoon clouds, but no rain.
oh gosh, I'm always worried about Summer thunderstorms. I hope everything was fine after it!Great shot.

Sorry to say, I don't miss them a bit.
Nice capture. I can feel the electricity in the air. Thanks for shairng.
I hope that you didn't get caught in the middle of that one.
Wow, its an amazing yet eerie photo. Nature provides such awesome backgrounds for photography. I hope everything was ok and you got home all right. We don't have thunderstorms here in San Francisco. Once in awhile, we'll hear about a 30% chance of one and most peeps get excited ....usually never happens.
Those are very low and dark clouds! I don't mind the thunder and lightening so much as long as I'm cozy inside :-)
Brooding Sky Watch!
Here's the answer to Qu'est-ce-que c'est?.
;-D
It sure looks like a storm is a'brewing.
You cannot imagine our 'cool' temps when mid 70s is hot and perfect. And I cannot imagine your (to me) extremely hot temps. Funny huh!! MB
There is always that afternoon storm on the horizon in Florida. Nice shot, Lois.
Crazy clouds!! I love hearing thunder, but I don't like the lightening either. Glad the rain brings you some relief and maybe a few moments rest for the AC!
Love the stormy sky!
No visible sky, but the great clouds steal the show. A really beautiful image.
We are set for a sweltering weekend in England - but the clouds are building up so it's very humid and sticky - maybe we'll have a big storm too. (We could do with some rain!)
Those are some serious looking rain clouds.
Looks just like Ocala. And yes, these storms do cool things down temporarily - a nice respite. Don't much like the lightning, though!
I'm probably weird, but I LOVE thunderstorms. We had storms like these every afternoon when I lived in Colorado ... but here in Oregon we might get 1 or 2 good ones a year. Sigh.
I hope the rain didn't pelt down until you got all your shopping back home.
those look like some pretty serious thunder clouds, pretty!!
wonderful SkyWatch photo
Regards, Bram
