SkyWatch Friday
A closer view of the three torches atop the Heritage Tower on the Florida State University campus which I featured in my post on Wednesday. To see more beautiful skies from around the world, don't miss SkyWatch Friday.
Hilda - Vires, Artes, Mores — Strength, Skill and Character is inscribed in the Florida State University seal and signifies the goal of the University to develop new generations of citizen leaders based on these three concepts. I probably should have included that info in my post. Thanks for asking!
Love the water against the brick and the three torches. This is a really unique monument (I think I said that on Wednesday), but obviously a lot of thought went into to it. I saw what you wrote about Strength, Skill and Character. Those are definitely wonderful things to learn. Great shot against the sky!

Nice! I don't know why but your photo inspires me the words "hope" and "strength"....
I have also posted photos which I took on an American campus.
This is such a cool photo with the fountain of water!
I have never noticed that. Good one!
Beautiful light on the golden flames and the cascade of water is wonderful.
Is Vires Artes Mores the motto of FSU? What do they mean?
I really like the brick and water, nice sky too!

Now that's a great detail!
Oh, Lois! This is magnificent!!! I love the goals of this university--some things sadly lacking in some of today's leaders...
Those are handsome torches against a very pretty sky.
Great monument...love seeing it :)

Ya, saw this when we were on the campus last. Cool!
I read your comment on the meaning of the three torches. Very appropriate. It doth look, though, like some birds were not impressed! :-)
You have bricks...and so does Martina! I plan to post brick pics soon too. Nice shot!
Looks like an "Olympic" moment!
Lois, this is so neat!
These torches are brilliant.
That is a lovely monument against the sky!
Beautiful! I love the diamond glints on the cascading water!
So pretty. Love the details on the flames and the rich natural colors of the composition.
