Hot

Posted by Picasa

This bank sign is located in downtown Tallahassee and I took the picture this past Saturday afternoon. When I first saw the sign, it was reading 109 degrees (F), but by the time I turned around in traffic and parked my car so I could take a picture, it had cooled down to 107!

Wow, a cold front :) It's been crazy hot here too, but we finally got some rain. Hope it cools off for you at least a little! Kathy

Oh my gosh! Was that accurate?! I don't think we've ever topped 100 since I've lived in SRQ.

I don't think you can consider it to have "cooled down" to 107, even it it used to be 109.

I guess I should quit complaining about the 90's!

The official high taken at the airport was 100 degrees F. That reading tied the record for heat on that day in Tallahassee. It's always hotter downtown than it is at the airport.

We got into the 100s this weekend too, but I don't think it was that hot! I hope you were able to keep cool. It worries me about what's to come... it's only June!

Now that is HOT! I sweltered out here Saturday in the mid 70s and was glad when it was mid to high 60s the next day. I guess I'll stay here. LOL

As a delicate Northern flower, I just don't know how you can bear those kind of temperatures! I suppose (hope) you have air-con in the house?

Oh, that is hot. I've been complaining about the mid-80's and humity here.

109 to 107, start of a cooling trend.

Oh, WOW! Sudden temperature drop to only 107º! Time to bring out the thermals!

I have always to make same calculation to understand the temperature in Fahrenheit degrees, but I remember easily that around 100 is quite hot!

Yes, Jenny we definitely have air conditioning in the house! But when I was growing up, we didn't get a/c until I was about 13! I think the only thing that made it bearable was that we lived near the coast and got some cool ocean breezes, especially at night. My grandparents actually had a screened in sleeping porch and they slept there when it was really hot.

It's just as hot here! Stifling! I do hear some thunder in the distance right now, though, and hope it will bring a bit of cooling rain.

Yikes! Too darn hot for me. It's warm up here, but not that bad. How do you stand that heat? Guess you have no choice, but to stay in or around the air conditioning.

Thats hot, hopefully people understand what that kind of heat can do to you.

astoundingly hot. I remember what 91 degrees felt like in NY last summer, I was always damp...I cannot imagine 109, 107 or 100!
You are a true photographer & bloger to venture out into that heat for the photo. Much appreciated.

42,7ºC is VERY hot indeed! Cool shot, Lois.

I guess it's a good thing I live clear up here in Oregon! We have heat stroke when it gets above 80! Fortunately that has only happened once this year so far ... but I'm getting tired of the rain. We had 5 days of no rain ... and right now it's pounding down outside, temps in the upper 50's.

Sigh. Still, that sounds better than 109! Or 107 ... or even 100. I don't think i could do it!

I don't miss hot Oklahoma summers! I can't imagine how hot that is with the humidity!
