Designated

The FSU campus has designated smoking areas near most of the buildings. This one is located right in front of the building where I work.

And these are "educated" people.

When my brother worked at a hospital in Minnesota, the designated smoking area was the receiving dock right next to the garbage dumpster. My brother commented seeing people standing in such unpleasant surroundings, in the cold Minnesota winter, to smoke was all the evidence needed that smoking is addictive.

Ick! Smoking is yucky. And I think those things stink to high heavens! We have one on our "patio" at work. It would be nice to sit there in the spring, but the stench of the smoke always lingers.

I wish they wouldn't put these areas in front of buildings, so that you have to walk through clouds of smoke to get through the door. Yes, I am a reformed smoker..haha!

Ha ha that's funny. In Rome people smoke even in restricted areas!

that's gettin a bit technical, i guess - but good for the non-smokers on the campus, so they can avoid the designated places! LoL!

It would take centuries before this happens here!

That's a wonderful invention. Its better than looking at and smelling the cigarette (pardon the expression) butts...
Some campuses are completely smoke free :D

Smoking is a thing of the past around here. It is not legal to smoke outside anywhere. And those blue clouds of smoke at church on Sundays is a thing of the past that most preachers nowadays never heard of.

Well, if there are going to be smokers, best that they have their place outside. I've never seen a receptable (I'm not sure if I'm saying that correctly) like that before. It looks very neat and clean and modern.

They just taxed the smokers another dollar per pack here. I wonder how many people are going to quit because of it.

What does FSU stand for?

I don't like smoking, luckily all my family don't.

This is one of the fanciest cigarette receptacles I've seen. I guess FSU likes to do things well...well, that's what I've heard! No, I didn't hear that in Gainesville!

I've never seen a cigarette thingy like that one. Hopefully people are using it instead of throwing the cig butts on the ground.
