A mama wood duck with her babies near the banks of the Wakulla River. They seemed oblivious to the fact that there was an alligator floating on the water just a few feet away (Scroll down to my post from last Wednesday to see that gator. He's the one in the last picture of that post.) To see more fascinating critters from around the world, don't forget to visit

Tasty little quacky 'gator snacks...
CHOMP!
Somethings you're better off not knowing ;-D
If he is like me, he prefers his ducks cooked with orange sauce.
I hope this lovely family is fine! :)
Have a nice week,

They must have known the gator wasn't hungry? Actually, Lois, I have to laugh because I looked at the photo before I read your comment, and thought 'good thing that gator from yesterday wasn't right there'! Too funny!
Let's hope Mama knows best and they live to quack another day.
What a great adventure you all are having. MB
Great shot of the wood ducks, Lois...I thought the same thing as Clytie. Two minds with one single thought, 'get away from the gator'
HAHAHA @ B Squared as always. :)
