Unless you have very keen eyes, you really should click on the first picture and enlarge it so you can gaze into the glass ball to see the reflection of the Messer House shown in the second picture. The 362 acre Mission San Luis property which I have been featuring this week on my blog was purchased by James Messer in the early 20th century and his house was completed in 1939. The property was sold by James Messer's widow to the State of Florida in 1983 and research began to bring the story of Mission San Luis to the public. The Messer House was used as the visitor's center until this year when a new visitors' center was opened. It will now be used as administrative offices. I missed it at first, then enlarged the picture and saw the reflection. An very original way to get a glimpse of this beautiful mansion.
It is a neat way to conclude a series. Look into the crystal ball to see what is coming up. Or what has been. LOL.
It does make a nice photo too.
That a really cool reflection, I like the shadow too.
Sunny :)
I'm so glad I enlarged my view!!
the reflection in the ball is wonderful
Before I enlarged the photo, I thought I saw a secret message reflected in the ball! Mysterious white letters ...
But of course it was the Messer House. :=}
This is a beautiful reflection, Lois. I think it is one of my favorites of the Weekend Reflections!
A clever reflection in the glass ball, and a gorgeous house!
I wouldn't mind having our administrative offices in something like it. :)
Have a wonderful weekend, Lois!
What a neat idea! Love the glass gazing ball, I don't think I've seen one like that before. Great photo, and what a beautiful home. Kathy
Beautiful reflection! I love the design of the old house too. Happy Weekend!
