Watery Wednesday
If it hadn't been so cold, I would have been tempted to go wading in the shallow edge of Lake Jackson. To see more beautiful watery pictures, please visit Watery Wednesday.
Your picture is great dear Lois! Here I'm happy because since yesterday the Sun is shining, it's wonderful even my humour is better! :) Have a nice day hugs Léia
Dave--this is Florida and of course there are alligators (and snakes) in this lake as well as in pretty much every other body of water around here, so no one would go swimming at all if they worried about the alligators! I have been water skiing with my kids on this lake a few times and didn't even think about the gators. They usually don't bother people unless you provoke them. There are no crocodiles though. Jim--it's definitely not a croc because we don't have crocodiles in Florida, but I don't think it's an alligator either. I definitely would have zoomed in on him if it was!
Oops! I need to make a correction on my last comment--there are crocodiles in Florida, but they are rare and they are only found in the Southern tip of the state. So what I should have said is we don't have crocodiles here in north Florida.
On a nice warm day, this would be a good place to play in the water. But, if your weather has been like our weather, it wouldn't stick my big toe in there!
look at the water, so clean and looks fresh. I think everybody will think the same as you.. I'll jump immediately cause I like swimming.. great photo..
I wonder how cold it could be? It is still cold up here so I wold guess it is warm down there. We think shirt sleeve weather up here now is about 40-50°.

You must not have any alligators or crocodiles in northern Florida if you were tempted to go in the lake.
Is that a croc in the water?
Girl, your toenails would turn blue and fall off!
The water looks very clean. Hope it stays that way.

Cold? Almost hard to imagine from your photo!

Beautiful shot, Lois.
Its a wonderful lake for all to enjoy even the crocks and gators. Nice photo, Lois. Have a great day :)
The water looks so clear, and it won't be long before it's wading weather.

great photo..
Lovely picture but I'd be wondering what would be lurking in the sand on the bottom.
Sunny :)
It does look pretty and the water is very clear. But I don't like getting lake mud between my toes. Eeeee! ;-)
To wade there was exactly my first thought and I am not anymore used to it. The occasions are rare but one like this would really be irresistible!
Clear and beautiful. I love the gentle ripples on top too.
wonderful View
I would like to swim in such a lake... In Poland it is cold again, too... Warm greetings from cold Poland, Lois :-)
What a weird winter it's been... there and here. One day recently I saw the low in Tallahassie was 24, here the low for the day was 30. STRANGE!

It looks so calm and peaceful. I think I would have at least dipped my toes in!
I love clear shallows like this where you can see all the water life darting hither and thither and watch the refractions of the rays of the sun.
Lovely ...
Isn't this a lovely place? I would be tempted to wade, too!
It does look tempting.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Very nice and clear water.
I so hot here (39ºC)
Is the blue on the water a sky reflection? It's beautiful!
Amazingly clear water!
«Louis» can do without the gators and snakes...«Louis» is not into reptiles of any description...
We've been enjoying warm weather in the 40's this week, but I bet where you are that is considered really cold!
