SkyWatch Friday

Posted by Picasa

The moon was up, but it wasn't quite dark yet when I took this picture of the paraglider almost directly over my head. I had to take it quickly because he was moving pretty fast and I was surprised that it turned out reasonably well. I was just lucky to get the moon in the shot too! Since posting this I have found two other blogs with similar pictures of paragliders posted today here and here. To see more beautiful skies from around the world, please visit SkyWatch Friday.

Great capture! I like that the moon and the paraglider seem to be at the same level.

This is a remarkable shot.

I bet you have now inspired other hang gliders to position friends with cameras at locations where the camera angle might catch both them and the moon.

If this was on one of our very windy days as of late it's a wonder you captured him at all!

Well done, my friend :)

Incredible, Lois. You were quick and steady! Perfect juxtaposition of moon and glider!

At first I thought the glider looked a bit like a very large spider!

The trick for sky watch is to find something interesting up there and I thin yours is one of the most funny and unusual catches!

The Moon isn't stolen :(
(Well, in Poland widely know is the book (and the movie) for children "About two, who stole the Moon". The movie is also popular, because one of the two (brothers) was today's president -- Lech Kaczyński. When I saw this photo, I thought about the stolen Moon ;) )
