The annual Springtime Tallahassee Parade was held this past Saturday and the weather was absolutely perfect. The Leon County Sheriff's Office Mounted Posse helped kick off the parade. The parade route goes through the heart of downtown Tallahassee. The Florida Capitol complex is located right behind those trees in the background.

I really like parades when animals are involved in some way. Mounted this or that makes my heart tick a little louder.
Neat way to start, beats old cop cars, LOL.
Our neighbors participate in the Sheriff's Posse, did you know that?
Looks like a very interesting parade. Especially for me since we don't have sheriffs, posses or horses this big and handsome!
Thanks so much for sharing this photo, we missed the parade
You would never know the buildings were back there.
I bet you had fun! Hope we get to see more pictures.
Horses in parades are my favorite part!
It looks like you had fun - can't wait to see more pictures??? Hint, Hint ...
Nice perspective. What a great looking horse.
PS - I bet your son and new daughter-in-law had (or are having) a blast in St. Augustine. Seems a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the start of a marriage.
I bet it was a neat parade. We have the Snohomish County Sheriff'd Posse out here. Maybe every county has one. MB
I've always enjoyed a good parade...especially when the weather cooperates....thanks for you lovely comments on my blog..happy week to you!
Ah Florida! Hope to be there first week in May.
And who doesn't love a parade...years ago when we lived in LA, we'd go to the Rose Parade (at 4 AM to get seats!)...always loved the variety of horses!
... And once again Spanish Moss is everywhere! :-)
I LOve this picture! Reminds me of our hometown parade held every Fourth of July.
The abandoned Mega-church was an odd place to begin with. It was the meeting place of many religions. There was a Buddha statue, A Krishna statue with his flute, a statue of Jesus with out nail holes in his hand. Then there was what we called the great stick god in the center of the nervana garden. They were the oddest church I've ever seen.
Thousands of people attended there for years. And then one day it was no more. Their leader had embezzled millions of dollars from the church. I remember someone saw one of those statues trundling down the freeway in the back of someone's truck.
I've always prayed there would be a college in those buildings someday....
I like taking pictures of parades and the crowds too.
I love parades! Thanks for sharing the excitement!
Parades are fun to watch pass by. Very entertaining.
I love seeing the mounted police in a parade. My grandfather was a policeman, but his horse power came with four wheels.
Nice picture, I keep forgetting that Tallahassee is Florida's Capital!
