A Few Wedding Pics

Me all dressed up and ready to go see my son get married.

My nephew (left) and my son (right) pose on the front steps of the house where the ceremony will take place.

The newlywed couple pose in the front yard after the ceremony with the groomsmen.

The wedding cake with a few of the dozens of cupcakes that surrounded it.

My grandson trying to catch bubbles with his champagne glass.

My son's wedding was held outdoors on the bride's family farm just north of Tallahassee near Havana, Florida. It was a beautiful spring day with sunny skies and the temperature at ceremony time was about 76 degrees F. It was a true Southern style wedding with the groom and all of his groomsmen attired in top hats and tails complete with white gloves and canes. They all looked very dapper! The ceremony was held on the front steps of the bride's family home with the reception a short walk away in the pasture under a huge tent. On the menu were barbequed ribs, chicken and pork with various side dishes including green beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and bread. The wedding cake was surrounded by dozens of individually decorated cupcakes. We all had a wonderful time and now the newlyweds are off on their honeymoon at a romantic 100 year old bed and breakfast overlooking the ocean in St. Augustine. We all had a wonderful time at the wedding, but I am just exhausted!

I am so glad the weather cooperated - what wonderful pictures! I absolutely adore the 'bubble catcher'. I am so glad everything turned out perfect for your son and his wife ... and for you. You look absolutely exquisite! Not exhausted at all! And now you can kick back and relax for a while, right? Congrats to the happy couple.

You look exquisite--I especially loved the bubble blower and the newly married couple look wonderful.

May God bless them with every great joy. My darling and I are about to celebrate your 27th year together.

Now you can kick back and relax, yes? Too bad you didn't live a little closer, Clytie and I would take you for a long walk in our beloved and magical forests.

Oh Lois, thanks for sharing this. You look beautiful. What a lovely occasion, and how interesting to see how other people 'do' weddings - 76 and sunny sounds perfect. You'd be lucky to get that in UK! You will feel tired - and probably a bit 'flat' now. Plan some treats just for you.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful day with us via your gorgeous pictures. You look absolutely beautiful, which is apropos for the mother of the groom, but not always easy to pull off. Fantastic dress!

I'm sure you're glad it's all over, but you'll be reliving the occasion via wonderful memories the rest of your life!

This looks like a classic wedding. I don't think I have been to a wedding where all of the groomsmen wore tails with top hats and canes. And there were a lot of groomsmen. Did they all do a song and dance routine at the reception?

A wonderful selection of photographs to share with us, Lois. I thank you so much.

The newly married couple under the guard of honour look very happy and incredibly attractive.

That dress you are wearing is exquisite. I would never be able to maintain that shawl around any part of me unless it were pinned in some way.

As other commenters have said, now have a rest for a week or so.

Wonderful memories! Did the bride's dress get bar-b-q sauce on it?

when i see the first i think :"I think the bride will be jealous"

Lois said...

The bride actually changed out of her dress into blue jeans at the reception (and so did her mother)! I was worried about getting BBQ sauce on my dress, but I didn't.
