Watery Wednesday
Another view of Lake Jackson located just north of Tallahassee. To see more beautiful watery pictures from around the world, please visit Watery Wednesday.
That looks so much like spring! I am getting tired of dirty snow, so we had either better get a decent new snowfall, or this stuff can get right out of here!
Tricia--the lake is shallow at the shoreline, but it actually has a few very deep sinkholes under it and every 25 years or so the whole lake disappears by draining into the Florida aquifer through those sinkholes. It's very dramatic. Right now the lake has filled up to normal levels and some of the best bass fishing in the country can be found in this lake.

Come summer I will regret saying it, but I have seen enough water for a while. Nice clear sky.
It still has that wintery look. Our Spring has begun with several trees in bloom.
Awesome picture, I love the colour of this lake, and the peaceful feeling that it brings!

I agree that it still has that wintery look with the wind ruffling up the water ...

Great colors and it's a very peaceful picture.
A nice scene, especially w/ that clear sky, but the lake must be pretty shallow, huh?!
It's a wonderful large lake, Lois. I'm surprised its not full of migrating birds fleeing the northern winter snow.

I can't imagine a whole lake disappearing like that! Do "they" stock it with bass? Lovely shot, Lois!
Isn't it so nice to see it looking like a lake again?
That looks like it would look here if we weren't looking at all this snow!

Neat picture and info you gave Tricia. I bet it is very dramtic when it all drains aeay. It looks very flat there. MB
You do have a nice selection of water scenes down there.
look like a big lake
I'm beginning to learn something more about your area. I like these lakes, I think that they offer many photographic opportunities.
Looks wonderful.
